Tyrese Haliburton is finishing up his third full season with the Indiana Pacers, and he continues to get better and better. Despite not earning an All-Star nod this year, Haliburton is still one of the top young point guards in the league. Additionally, his performance following the All-Star break may earn him his second career All-NBA selection.
While Haliburton has his flaws, he is a fantastic point guard who is a perfect fit in Indiana's system. At just 25 years old, his and the Pacers' future is bright. Last year, largely because of Haliburton's play, the Pacers made their first conference finals appearance in a decade. The Pacers will only go as far as Haliburton can take them, and they have done a great job of building the perfect roster around him to maximize what some could consider his superpower.
Tyrese Haliburton is the perfect point guard for the Pacers
Of all of Haliburton's strengths, none are as great as his incredible court vision. The Wisconsin native is one of the best floor generals in the league. Additionally, despite being selfless and one of the best at racking up assists, Haliburton takes care of the ball and rarely makes mistakes. This season, he is averaging 9.2 assists to just 1.6 turnovers per game.
Furthermore, the Pacers have done a good job of maximizing Haliburton's court vision with their fast-paced offensive system. The Pacers are among the best offenses in the league, and this is mostly because of Haliburton's ability to run their high-scoring system.
What makes the Pacers' roster special is that they have a lot of complementary players next to Haliburton. Andrew Nembhard is a great backcourt partner alongside Haliburton, and Pascal Siakam and Myles Turner are perfect fits on the court as well due to their ability to space the floor.
Just a few years into his Pacers tenure, Haliburton has already established himself as the heartbeat of the team, and the front office is doing a fantastic job of building the perfect roster around him to get the best out of him and his play on the court.
This season, Haliburton and the Pacers will aim to make another deep playoff run after last year's conference finals appearance. They have some tough competition ahead of them. However, as long as Haliburton is healthy and fully ready to go, he should be capable of leading the Pacers deep into the playoffs.
