Just one week into the 2024-25 NBA season, the Indiana Pacers lost both of their backup centers, James Wiseman and Isaiah Jackson, to Achilles injuries that will likely sideline them for the whole season. For a few weeks, the Pacers' only healthy center was Myles Turner, with the occasional small-ball center minutes going to players like Obi Toppin and Enrique Freeman.

A week ago, the Pacers finally added another big man to the team, signing 25-year-old center Moses Brown. Since then, Brown has appeared in just a few games for Indiana, though he was unable to showcase his potential until Sunday night's 12-point win against the Washington Wizards.

In the win, Brown scored 15 points on 6-for-8 shooting off the bench. Additionally, he grabbed four rebounds and recorded one block in around 13 minutes. It was an incredibly promising performance, and Pacers fans are already feeling eager about what the rest of his stint with the team will look like.

Even after the game, Brown left his impact on Pacers fans, going in depth about what he brings to the court and being an exceptional teammate. Brown's comments will certainly ensure that Pacers fans will root for him even more than they already are.

Moses Brown showcases his potential on and off the court for the Pacers

In his post-game press conference, Brown spoke about what is important to him on the court and what he provides to the Pacers. The New York native made it clear that he is selfless and always tries to put his teammates in positions to succeed.

“Having proper spacing... I play for my teammates at the end of the day, so if I’m rolling to the basket and I don’t have the ball, I go to the dunker and just do things that complement my teammates so they can get drives and get easier shots," Brown said.

Additionally, the UCLA alum spoke about being "an anchor" on the defensive side of the ball, which will certainly catch the attention of Pacers fans everywhere.

Brown is not a threat to steal Turner's starting job, but he was a low-risk, high-reward addition who has looked good for the team so far. He is a strong presence on the court, standing at 7'2". Additionally, he still possesses a lot of tools that can make him a useful player in the NBA. If there is any team in the league that can bring the best out of Brown, it is the Pacers.

The big man will likely continue to have ample opportunities to showcase his talents as the season progresses. In that time, he will be able to prove to the Pacers that they were right in taking a chance on him.
