Is Isaiah Jackson playing tonight? Full injury report for Pacers vs. Knicks
After limited participation in training camp and the preseason, Indiana Pacers big man Isaiah Jackson missed the team's season opener against the Detroit Pistons due to a groin injury. Despite his absence, the Pacers defeated the Pistons to begin the season 1-0. Tonight, the Pacers will go to Madison Square Garden and take on the New York Knicks in a playoff rematch.
The last time the Pacers faced the Knicks on the road, they ended their season in Game 7 in the second round of last season's playoffs. In that game, Jackson played 10 minutes, recording nine points on a perfect 3-for-3 shooting night, one rebound, and one assist. Luckily for the Pacers, Jackson is set to play in the rematch as well to make his individual season debut.
Isaiah Jackson will make his season debut for the Pacers vs. the Knicks
Per head coach Rick Carlisle, Jackson is active and set to play in his first game of the 2024-25 season in New York. Due to his status, it is unknown whether Jackson is a full-go or not. However, given the devastating injury to James Wiseman, the Pacers' other backup center, it is likely that Jackson will have to assume a large role as the team's only other center besides Myles Turner.
From the Knicks' perspective, they will be without two of their own big men--Precious Achiuwa and Mitchell Robinson.
Achiuwa suffered a left hamstring injury in the Knicks' preseason finale against the Washington Wizards and will be re-evaluated in a few weeks. As for Robinson, he is still rehabbing his ankle injury from last season and is unlikely to return to the court until at least some point in December.
Additionally, the Knicks will also miss small forward Kevin McCullar Jr. The Texas alum was drafted by the Phoenix Suns in the second round of this year's draft but immediately got traded to the Knicks. He is currently dealing with a knee injury and also missed New York's season opener on the road against the Boston Celtics.
