Over two years since he last stepped on an NBA court, former Indiana Pacers All-Star Victor Oladipo is attempting a comeback, and multiple teams recently attended a group workout and "came away impressed" (h/t Jeremy Woo of ESPN).

Oladipo last played for the Miami Heat during the 2022-23 season, but he suffered a left knee injury during a Game 3 victory against the Milwaukee Bucks. The Maryland native has not suited up for an NBA team since, but that coud change by the sound of things.

He is 33 years old, and his best days are behind him. Furthermore, there are reasons to be concerned about signing Oladipo at this stage, especially given his history with knee injuries. However, Oladipo showed he still has some left in the tank with Miami. It has been two years, but if the latest reports are true, it would not be a shock to see him back on an NBA court this season.

Victor Oladipo has a very confusing Pacers legacy

Though he has played for numerous teams throughout his career, most would associate Oladipo with his time with the Pacers. Oladipo, who the team acquired as part of the blockbuster trade that sent Paul George to the Oklahoma City Thunder, played in 139 games with the team across four seasons and had his best moments in Indiana.

During his time with the Pacers, Oladipo became a two-time All-Star, a one-time All-NBA selection, a one-time All-Defensive team selection, and he won the Most Improved Player award in 2018. Furthermore, he earned MVP votes for the first time in his career during the 2017-18 season.

Oladipo looked like the Pacers' next star after George's exit. This was true for a while, but it turned sour abruptly.

The Pacers traded Oladipo to the Houston Rockets in 2021. By this point, the Indiana alum had shown signs of regression, especially after suffering a devastating knee injury in 2019 that kept him out of action for a year. Following the trade, Oladipo threw shade at his former team numerous times, whether it be about his surgery or the trade itself. Regardless, many Pacers fans never forgot and still have not fully forgiven their former All-Star.

Good or bad, Oladipo left an impact on his former team even four years after he last played for them. Things went in completely different directions for him and the team since the trade. However, it does not seem that he is ready to call it a career just yet.

Crazier things have happened in the NBA, but do not expect the Pacers to call Oladipo's phone as he attempts a comeback. Even so, fans may want to monitor his comeback as there is a good chance they will see him again sooner rather than later.
