Last summer, the Brooklyn Nets acquired Bojan Bogdanovic from the New York Knicks as part of the Mikal Bridges trade. The former Indiana Pacers forward underwent foot and wrist surgeries during the playoffs last year and has yet to return to the court, having missed the entire season up to this point. Unfortunately for Bogdanovic, his return will not happen this season.
Bojan Bogdanovic will miss the entire 2024-25 season
According to ESPN's Shams Charania, Bogdanovic is set to undergo foot surgery that will officially cause him to miss the rest of the season.

Furthermore, the Nets have already waived the 35-year-old, who was set to be an unrestricted free agent in the summer.
Bogdanovic is a player that should be familiar to Pacers fans since he used to play for the team not too long ago. The Pacers signed Bogdanovic as an unrestricted free agent from the Washington Wizards during the 2017 offseason. At the time, Bogdanovic only had three years in the NBA and had not broken out yet. While he was far from an All-Star with the Pacers, he became a solid contributor for the team.
In two seasons in Indiana, Bogdanovic appeared in 161 games, starting all of them. Across that span, he averaged 16.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.7 assists. He also shot 48.7% from the field and 41.3% from beyond the arc. He also played a big role during the Pacers' playoff appearances the two seasons he was with the team.
Bogdanovic ultimately left the Pacers and joined the Utah Jazz in the 2019 offseason.
Following the recent news, it will be interesting to see what is next in store for Bogdanovic. In addition to the surgery, he is going to turn 36 years old in April. He also does not provide much on the court beyond his scoring and perimeter shooting. However, he looked solid the last time he took the court. Last season, Bogdanovic averaged 15.2 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.7 assists with the Knicks and Detroit Pistons.
Bogdanovic is free to sign with any team in the league, though he will not step on an NBA court this season. However, it remains to be seen which teams (if any) might have interest in the former Pacer. He is a veteran forward who still has some gas left in the tank and could be a good option for a contending team as a bench scorer.
