The Chicago Bulls will continue their early-season three-game road trip tonight against the Indiana Pacers at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

The Bulls didn’t capitalize on their overtime win against the Toronto Raptors to open up, as they lost 118-102 to the Pistons on Saturday. Chicago wasted a 51-point effort from Zach LaVine, as the Bulls only had two other players in double figures.

Meanwhile, the Pacers are off to a 2-0 start after defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers 125-113 on Saturday night. Aaron Nesmith led the way with 26 points and nine rebounds off the bench for Indiana.

Chicago Bulls vs. Indiana Pacers key players to watch

Chicago Bulls

DeMar DeRozan: If LaVine doesn’t play tonight, the Bulls must lean on DeRozan and Nikola Vucevic. DeRozan played well in the regular season opener against the Raptors, dropping a game-high 33 points on 11-of-22 shooting from the field.

However, he fell back down to earth against the Pistons, scoring 20 points on 7-of-13 shooting from the field. Last season against the Pacers, DeRozan averaged 24.3 points, 4.0 assists, and 3.7 rebounds per game.

Indiana Pacers

Tyrese Haliburton: Haliburton notched his second-straight double-double on Saturday night against the Cavs.

The young point guard scored 21 points (7-for-16 FG, 4-of-7 from 3) and dished out 13 assists in the 12-point win. He also fell two rebounds short of a triple-double.

Haliburton should have another good game against the Bulls, who allowed Cade Cunningham to have 25 points, 10 assists, and four rebounds over the weekend. Last season against the Bulls, the former first-round pick averaged 20.7 points and 10.0 assists per game. He also shot 51.2 percent from the field and 52.9 percent from behind the arc.

Chicago Bulls vs. Indiana Pacers Prediction and Pick

It’s still early in the 2022-23 NBA season, but the Bulls and Pacers are trending in opposite directions.

Chicago just skated by Toronto and followed up that performance with a loss to the young Detroit Pistons.

If LaVine doesn’t play tonight, it’s hard to trust anybody outside of DeRozan to do their part as Vucevic has struggled.

Meanwhile, the Pacers have looked good in their two wins, getting contributions from their starters and the bench.

Take Indiana to win the game and cover the three-point spread tonight.

Pick: Pacers -3
