3 Players fans should watch in Indiana Pacers preseason game vs. Cleveland Cavaliers
By Jack Simone
The Indiana Pacers will wrap up their preseason slate tonight with a game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. They are currently 1-2 and looking to get to a .500 record to wrap up the preseason.
That said, as noted many times, the preseason isn’t about wins and losses. Instead, it’s about player development and helping players get ready for the regular season.
Tyrese Haliburton returned to the court for the Pacers’ third game, which was also their first win, and a bunch of Indiana’s youngsters have been playing well, too.
But as the Pacers prepare to take on the Cavaliers, let’s take a look at the three players fans should be keeping a close eye on throughout the game.
1. Jarace Walker
One of the major themes from the Pacers’ preseason has been rookie Jarace Walker’s up-and-down showings. He was great in his first game, had a rough night in his second, and, unfortunately, failed to bounce back in the third.
In the Pacers’ latest preseason game, a win over the Atlanta Hawks, Walker put up just four points, two rebounds, and one assist while shooting 2-of-8 from the field and 0-of-2 from beyond the three-point line.
Indiana selected Walker with the eighth pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, and they have high hopes for him heading into the season, as he should be battling with Obi Toppin to see who becomes the full-time starting power forward.
A big bounce-back game against the Cavaliers would not only be a great sight to see for Pacers fans, but it could also act as the perfect confidence booster for Walker heading into the season.
