Grade the Trade: Buddy Hield mock deal sees Indiana Pacers also trade Andrew Nembhard to Milwaukee Bucks: Bucks grade
For the Milwaukee Bucks, this deal would be all about improving their guard rotation around Jrue Holiday in an attempt to bounce back after a disappointing end to last year.
Jevon Carter played a huge role for the Bucks last season, but after his departure to the Chicago Bulls, Milwaukee will have to find ways to replace what he brought to the table.
Grayson Allen and Pat Connaughton have both been solid rotation pieces for the Bucks, but snagging Buddy Hield and Andrew Nembhard would be clear upgrades.
Hield’s three-point shooting is close to unmatched, as just seven years into his career, he’s already 29th all-time in total three-pointers made. Having that level of floor-spacer next to Giannis Antetokounmpo and the rest of their core would be elite.
Nembhard would also be a perfect fit for the Bucks. Not only would he be able to give them real contributions next year, but he’d also make them younger overall, which would be great for the team’s future outlook.
The only real risk in this deal would be the potential of Hield leaving in free agency next summer, as that would leave them with a gap at the shooting guard position.
That said, giving up a first-round pick in order to secure two upgrades in their guard rotation would be a win for the Bucks.
