The Indiana Pacers were active on the trade market this summer, and because of this, will have plenty of players that will be playing against their old teams this year. For example, every year we get the chance to see Buddy Hield and Tyrese Haliburton show the Kings what they are missing in what they trade to the Indiana Pacers.

This year, the revenge game to watch will be the first time the Knicks play the Pacers, which will be in Gainbridge Fieldhouse. This will be a phenomenal moment for Obi Toppin to show the Knicks why they should have invested more in his playstyle.

Obi Toppin has a dynamic high-flying playstyle that never seemed to match New York’s isolation-based offense, but with Tyrese Haliburton at the helm in Indy, Toppin will likely be in a system where he will be able to thrive.

This will be the newest chapter in the New York Knicks and Indiana Pacers rivalry. While it isn’t much of a rivalry anymore, for years the Pacers and Knicks were at each others throats during the season and in the playoffs. It will be exciting this year for the Knicks-Pacers matchup to have the same kind of energy that it had in yesteryear.

The first game between the two franchises will be at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on December 30th, the day before New Year’s Eve.

And while Obi Toppin likely will not be a franchise altering player, I anticipate that he will fit in quite nicely in the type of offense the Pacers run. And on this night? Expect Toppin to bring all of the energy that he can during the first game against the Knicks in a Pacers uniform.

This week we will continue to highlight key games on the schedule that you will want to circle and not miss! Check back again later this week!
