The Indiana Pacers are 2-0 in the Las Vegas Summer League heading into a matchup with the 1-1 Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder also went 2-1 at the Salt Lake City Summer League before getting to Vegas. With those extra games they might have seen enough from Chet Holmgren who did not play against the Rockets in a loss yesterday.

The Thunder are favored so Vegas likely expects Chet to be back on the floor tonight against the Pacers. Let’s get into the odds.

Thunder vs. Pacers odds, spread and total

Spread:

  • Thunder -4 (-110)
  • Pacers +4 (-110)

Moneyline:

  • Thunder -175
  • Pacers +150

Total:

  • 183.5 (Over -110 / Under -110)

Thunder vs. Pacers prediction and pick

It’s been a good showing by Indiana so far and it’s no surprise with their second-year players like Bennedict Mathurin and Andrew Nembhard. Their first-round pick this year, Jarace Walker had 16 points, four rebounds, and four assists against the Magic, but only eight points against the Wizards.

In that matchup with the Wizards, Indiana only shot 4/25 from three (16%), but still held on to win by eight. They didn’t exactly shoot the lights out in their other win either. Instead, they’ve relied on out rebounding their opponents. Even if Holmgren plays tonight, Walker and Isaiah Jackson are a bad matchup for him down low. They are both physical forwards that surrender height to Chet, but make up for that with strength.

It seems like the Thunder are happy with what Chet has done this summer and won’t overdo it with him. Even if he does play this is a bad matchup for him with two bowling balls downlow for Indiana. The Thunder also went without Ousmane Dieng against Houston. I’ll take the 2-0 Pacers to win outright as an underdog.

Pick: Pacers +150
