1. Package Bennedict Mathurin with a future first-round pick to bring in a top-tier talent.
While this may be a bit unthinkable, there may be a few situations where it makes sense. If the Pacers were able to package Mathurin together with some first-round draft capital they could be competitive for some of the bigger names that may be available. For example, if the Pacers could sign and trade for Jaylen Brown, then he would essentially be Mathurin’s replacement and we could add some draft capital, which would surely be worth it for a player of Brown’s level.
But there are other players such as Pascal Siakam or Damian Lillard that could be available given the right package. While Mathurin is a great player, he isn’t good enough already to pass on a player at Jaylen Brown’s level.
