The Indiana Pacers have finally made official their signing of Bruce Brown Jr. and extension of Tyrese Haliburton. Both moves have been known about for days, but we were able to get more concrete details around each of the moves and hear from the players themselves. And some of the details were incredibly interesting. But one in particular was when Bruce Brown was discussing why he decided to join the Indiana Pacers in free agency.
We heard Bruce Brown firsthand say that Haliburton called him up and recruited him to Indiana.

In the last few years, post PG at least, do we remember ANY Pacer landing or at LEAST recruiting a player to the Pacers?!?
I don’t. Tyrese WILL be the man that gets it done here!
At his press conference, Bruce Brown discussed that Tyrese Haliburton called him up firsthand to pitch to him why Indiana would be the best place for him. We heard a similar story last offseason when the Pacers sent an offer sheet to Deandre Ayton to try and land him in free agency. It appears that Tyrese Haliburton is actively recruiting players to Indiana. And even better? They seem to want to actually come play alongside him.
"I took 2 meetings. The Knicks was the 1st. I think we had others lined up, but we didn't make it there. I just think it's a perfect fit. Tyrese [Haliburton] was recruiting me."

The fact that Tyrese is now contracted to the team until the 2029 season and that he is recruiting players to come to Indiana spells good things for the Pacers. Take into account his upcoming Team USA trip and Ty could actively be working on getting some big names to the circle city.
Tyrese Haliburton is the reason that the Pacers franchise has such a bright future, and Bruce Brown is the early returns on that investment.
While Brown isn’t necessarily a massive name in the NBA, he was one of the more sought after free agents this offseason in a weaker class. The fact that the Pacers were able to compete for a player that was wanted for so many teams indicates that the future is bright for the Indiana Pacers.
Let’s just see who we are able to recruit next because the better we get, the bigger names will be attracted to the newest league superstar, Tyrese Haliburton.

Pacers fleece New York Knicks and use cap space to win free agency
The Pacers entered the offseason needing to nail free agency. And what have they done? Exactly that says Sam Quinn of CBS Sports.
