Pacers swap picks with the Golden State Warriors to bring in high-upside young power forward.
The Warriors have a plethora of talent at the power forward position and it is starting to look more and more like they will resign Draymond Green during this offseason. If that is the case, Kuminga may be looking to make a move given that he is not getting playing time in his role in Golden State even though he has looked like a starting-level power forward in this league.
The Pacers would move off of their seventh pick for Jonathan Kuminga while only moving six spots back to pick number 13, where they may still be able to get a talented player. The Warriors get compensated for the young player they don’t have any minutes to play given their depth at power forward.
Some may think that Kuminga may be more valuable than this, but the seventh pick holds quite a bit of weight and the difference in player one might get at seven versus thirteen could be substantial.
