The NBA Draft is looming large and many wonder how it will pay out. There is at least one certainty in the draft, which is Wembanyama going first overall. As for the rest of the lottery? One NBA insider says it’s all up in the air.

In the article Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports goes on to write that for many of the teams in the lottery, there is a wealth of talent but no clear pathway. Portland may be looking to trade out of the number three spot, while Charlotte is probably unclear if Scoot Henderson will pair nicely with LaMelo Ball. All in all, it’s a challenging draft to project. Fischer writes that:

"There is no straightforward answer to what Charlotte will decide at No. 2 with many mock drafts pinning Alabama freshman Brandon Miller as the Hornets’ likely direction as a perceived better fit next to All-Star point guard LaMelo Ball instead of G League Ignite guard Scoot Henderson. Yahoo Sports’ Krysten Peek has Henderson projected to go No. 2. That level of uncertainty could present a challenge for any team hoping to jump to the third pick without a clear idea of which prospects will still be on the board until those five minutes start ticking away."

This means that we could be headed for all-out chaos during the lottery as teams who though players that were going to be available/not available start changing at the drop of a hat. This may leave avenues for draft-day trades that would have otherwise felt improbable.

And what do we know about the Pacers?

And the Pacers specifically? Fischer writes that the only certainty with the team is that they have been pursuing a power forward heavily this season and look to be doing so with their draft prospects as well.

As far as who that power forward will be? Nobody knows. Three main prospects seem to continue to come up in conversation in Cam Whitmore, Jarace Walker, and Taylor Hendricks. Although other names appear from time to time.
