NBA Rumors: Sources say Pacers may be looking to shop No. 7 pick
By Joe Lyon
The Pacers didn’t win the lottery, but they didn’t do too bad either. Kevin Pritchard and company came away with pick number seven. But that doesn’t mean they intend to actually use it either.
A new report from Senior NBA Reporter Jake Fischer at Yahoo Sports suggests that the Pacers are one among many lottery teams that may be interested in trading away their lottery pick for a star player in return. This is what Fischer had to say:
"“There are other teams rival executives are already pinning as potential trade candidates […] the Pacers already explored trading for veteran talent before the February trade deadline, league sources told Yahoo Sports.”"
This has led to a flurry of different trade proposals that could potentially work with the Toronto Raptors coming up as a common destination. The Raptors are coming off of a disappointing season with a handful of wing players (which the Pacers desperately need) that may be available this offseason.
So this begs the question, are there deals that could be made with Toronto that would potentially be beneficial for both sides? If Indiana is shopping the No. 7 pick like Jake Fischer says they are, what could the Pacers hope for in return?
