The draft lottery is quickly approaching, and as such, here at 8 points, 9 seconds we try to cover all of the different players that the Pacers could draft. And while it is unlikely the Pacers will win the lottery (see full odds here), there is a chance and we should prepare for if it happens.

There is no debate. There is no discussion. There is no speculation.

Whoever wins the NBA draft, including the Pacers, will be selecting Victor Wembanyama, the french prospect that has been amazing us all for about a year now. Want to be impressed this morning? I’ve got a video that will blow you away in terms of pure talent:

Ever seen a putback slam dunk? I haven’t, at least not like that one. Wembanyama is being touted as the best prospect to enter the NBA since perhaps LeBron James and many expect him to be a game changing talent that could alter the legacy of a franchise, not just in the short-term.

His long physical frame combined with dribbling, shooting, and side-to-side agility make him a player the likes of which the NBA has never seen. So if he’s available, the Pacers will pick him. But he will only be available at number one, so here’s to hoping Tyrese has some luck on lottery night.

How good has Victor Wembanyama been this past year?

I’m glad you asked, because Victor has been dominant in his time overseas this year. He is averaging 22 points, 10 rebounds, and 2.4 assists on 47% FG and 29% FG3. And while at face value that shooting from deep doesn’t look that impressive, consider the fact that Wembanyama is able to putback slam his missed three pointers. The kid is going to be an absolute force. And his signature shot? The three-point floater:

Watch out NBA, because no matter who gets Wembanyama, they are going to be a force in the NBA for years to come.
