The Indiana Pacers are gearing up for their most important draft in decades. It ultimately could determine the success of the current rebuild and the short-term future of the franchise. And while certain prospects, such as this forward, probably don’t need to come workout for the team, there are many players that are worthwhile to bring in for a pre-draft workout.

The Pacers have announced who they will be bringing in for their first set of pre-draft workouts and there are some interesting names on the list.

And while there are certainly a lot of interesting candidates on the list, the one that caught the eye of many fans was Jaime Jaquez out of UCLA.

Jaime was a four-year player out of UCLA, which means that his upside probably isn’t superstar level, but that doesn’t mean he couldn’t develop into a phenomenal role player for the Pacers. In his senior season at UCLA, Jaime averaged 18 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 2.4 assists. He was able to do that on 48% shooting and 32% from deep.

The Pacers are likely looking into all options ahead of the draft with three first round picks.

While much of the focus will be on who the Pacers take with their first pick, it is important to remember that they have two later first-round picks that they will need to either trade or use as well. While, Jaime and the players coming to work out aren’t going to be lottery players, the Pacers will have the ability to take them later in the first round. And honestly? It looks like fans would be excited.

Only time will tell if Jaime is still available to the Pacers, likely at the 29th overall pick in the upcoming draft. If he is however, the Pacers are going to be getting some of the needed intel tomorrow at the pre-draft workout.
