Ultimately, it would likely cost too much to get Middleton to the Circle City.

Even if the Bucks did like the offer we outlined, the Pacers would likely still be reluctant to do so. They may be able to draft an excellent power forward with some of their draft capital and hold on to players like Nesmith and Hield.

Also, the Bucks would likely want more in terms of draft capital if we were to do a sign and trade. Given he has a player option, he could decline and then the Pacers could pursue without giving up anything. So it may be only worth it if the Pacers are extremely high on Middleton and they don’t want him to hit the open market, where teams like Dallas could quickly swoop in and take away the Pacers chances.

This specific trade? I’d give it a B. It’s good value, but probably would be an overpay given that we could potentially get him for far less in the future if he hits free agency.
