The media as well as the fans both are talking about this as a legitimate option for the Dallas Mavericks.
Turner is currently on a team friendly contract for the next two years given he took a large payday this season to compensate for the offset. Because of this, many teams that are cash strapped such as the Dallas Mavericks, see him as an even more valuable asset to acquire. The local media as well as national outlets are discussing the possibility of Turner moving back home to Dallas.
If the Dallas Mavericks hang onto their 2023 first-round pick after the NBA Draft lottery sorts out the order, could they trade for Indiana Pacers' Myles Turner? https://t.co/0xqoglkqE5

But fans are also increasingly buying into the delusion that Turner may eventually be a Dallas Maverick, even though all signs seem to point to the contrary.
The Dallas #Mavericks could possibly be interested in BIG MAN Deandre Ayton if guard Kyrie Irving returns

Possible targets include Myles Turner and John Collins
Let’s be serious people. The 10th pick is not getting you someone on the level of OG, Myles Turner, etc. I highly doubt Dallas is going to pair that pick with their only other available 1st in 2027 for one singular player. This list is fair when you account for salary matching https://t.co/YxbmqfkQ1L

Best trade scenario (REALISTIC) I’ve seen so far, Myles Turner and Buddy Hield to Dallas. And swap 1st rd picks (10 for 26). I got the idea from @uhallgrovetop . Hield can be the 6th man and gives you a sniper (replaces THJ), Turner protects the rim and can hit 3’s.

However, most signs seem to point to Turner staying in Indiana. He continues to work with his local organizations and clearly had the opportunity to leave in the offseason if that’s what he wanted to do. However, the allure of continuing in Indiana and playing alongside an elite point guard like Tyrese Haliburton may have changed the narrative for Turner and this offseason.
And while rumors will continue to circulate (they always do), most Pacers fans seems to be feeling comfortable that Turner will stay in Indiana for the foreseeable future.
