Our grade of this trade? We give this trade an A- at face value.

There is certainly downside to the trade given that Buddy Hield has such a close personal relationship with Tyrese Haliburton. If we set that aside, there are numerous benefits to both teams.

Why the Pacers do it: Quite frankly? We need power forwards and Collins would be the best pure power forward that we have had in nearly a decade. We have had a black-hole at the position for quite some time now and Collins would fit nicely in a pace and space offense like the Pacers.

Why the Hawks do it: The Hawks have multiple power forwards on their roster and Collins hasn’t taken off like they had hoped. They may be able to swing the power forward into a backcourt that features Hield, Young, and Murray. That is a scary amount of shooting.

In either case, we will see if the Hawks decide to make moves this summer but if they do, don’t be surprised if the Pacers look to get involved given what assets they have that could help the Pacers.
