Kyle Kuzma is going to have options this offseason. The Pacers are going to need to elevate their forward rotation. This could be a perfect match. But more details will be needed moving forward in order to see what Kuzma is thinking in regards to his future. However, his newest quotes indicate that Kuzma is open to moving this offseason and still sees his future as entirely open.

Kyle Kuzma would likely be an excellent fit in Indy. His stats for this year were excellent at 21 points, seven rebounds, and four assists. He was a borderline All-Star level player for the Wizards and could still get better as he is early in his career. Additionally, he bring playoff and championship level experience from his time with the Lakers. While Kuzma would have some downsides, there would certainly be upsides as well.

In today’s modern NBA, it’s hard to get a grasp on what a player is wanting to do. Kuzma was talked about heavily around the trade deadline but ultimately stayed in Washington for the remainder of the season. Expect those discussions to heat up again in recent weeks.

The Pacers should proceed with caution when it comes to Kyle Kuzma.

Is he worth paying quite a bit of money to? Yes. But he isn’t work leveraging your entire future for or comprising the current rebuilding process. If either of those were to be effected the signing would ultimately be a failure, even if Kuzma plays excellent while he is here.

Of course, the Pacers aren’t going to be the only team in pursuit, and many think that teams like the Knicks are going to have an upper hand in recruiting Kuzma to the bigger markets. However, Indy does have assets it can pitch to Kuzma such as team dynamic considerations, cap space in order to grow the salaries of current players, and a fanbase that both loves basketball and is craving success.

What do you think? Would Kuzma be a good fit in Indy? Let us know here.
