The Pacers season is winding to a close and fans’ eyes are starting to glimmer with the hope of a better tomorrow. Unfortunately, to reach that tomorrow, there will have to be a handful of changes that occur to the Pacers roster in order for us to reach our goals.

This means two things of course: (1) bringing in new talent via the draft and free agency and all of the exciting things that come with that and (2) moving off of players that no longer fit into the long term plan for the Pacers.

In this article we look at 5 players that the Pacers should definitely move on from after the season is over.

5. Daniel Theis

Daniel Theis was never intended to be long term solution for the Pacers at any position. In a lot of ways he was a salary matching piece in order for the Pacers to bring over the real asset, Aaron Nesmith.

Theis has played some limited minutes this season and thus has functioned in his third-string role well, but there really isn’t a place for him on the roster. IJAX, Myles Turner, and even Jalen Smith would be more deserving of the minutes at the five compared to Theis.
