An All-Star forward that can shoot, but is he worth the cost?

Lauri Markkanen made the All-Star team this season as a starter, so he certainly is no slouch. However, one can make the case that the only reason he was a starter in the first place was that the game occurred in Utah. In any case, Markkanen has had huge growth in Utah and absolutely is one of the better forwards in the league. What would it cost to get him? Well one ridiculous trade we found was the following:

This would be a massive cost for the forward. Three first-round picks would essentially end the Pacers’ rebuild and would mean we are going for contention immediately. Some may favor that, some may not. Given the Pacers would still have 2 first-round picks this season, perhaps they could get one or two more rotational pieces and be set.

Lauri has two years left on his deal which isn’t bad, but would like to see a longer term contract prior to the trade.
