2. Draft a generational player to help Haliburton and further the rebuild

Of course we aren’t going to get Victor Wembenyama. That mystery was solved months ago. But the Pacers do potentially have the opportunity to get a franchise-changing co-star for Tyrese Haliburton to play alongside of.

Don’t get me wrong, Mathurin was an excellent start and very well may develop into the co-star that Haliburton is going to need. But the Pacers are going to need more given the rest of the rotation is mostly good players, but rotation players at their peak.

The Pacers currently are pushing towards the play-in game and because of that this task is getting more difficult as time continues to go on. But the front office desperately will need to look for a way to draft a co-star for Haliburton. If they don’t draft one, perhaps they can convert their three first-round picks into a disgruntled star (like Jaylen Brown) to function as the co-star Haliburton will need.
