The Wizards are maybe good enough to get to the playoffs without the play-in someday…..maybe.

It’s been years since the Wizards front office has realized that the current trajectory of the franchise is leading to a dead end. However, perhaps their struggles this season despite going out and spending on players like Porzingus might begin to show them that they are headed on a one-way train to nowhere.

They have multiple players that would likely need to be shed in a potential tearing it down with big contracts like Beal needing to be the first to go. However, there are some real gems the Pacers should look at if this happens.

  • Kyle Kuzma is about to get paid, but he is probably worth every dime. He would also fit in nicely into a smaller power forward role for the Pacers and be able to play on both sides of the court.
  • Avdija could also fit in as a power forward that is skilled offensively. Ideally he wouldn’t be a starter on a contending team but might be able to fit in in a pinch.
