The Bulls should see the writing on the wall….it’s over in the Windy City.

Perhaps they don’t see what the rest of the NBA sees, which is that the experiment of DeMar/LaVine in Chicago is not championship competitive. They will never be able to surpass the likes of the Bucks or Celtics with their current core. Additonally, with the news of Lonzo Ball needing a third surgery on his knee, the end is likely in sight at this point. So how could the Pacers potentially benefit from the Bulls tearing it down this summer?

I don’t have delusions of grandeur, nor do I believe either Lavine or DeRozan would do anything to really help the Pacers at this point. However, there are some pieces that the Pacers could go after to sure up their rotation as they look to make a playoff push in a year or two.

  • Patrick Williams has really been a failed experiement in his time in Chicago. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have potential value. Perhaps the Pacers could get Williams off of the Bulls books along with a second-round pick?
  • Derrick Jones Jr would be another piece the Pacers could look to pick up for a second-round pick that would not be a starter, but could function in a backup role for a good team.
