It finally happened, after 16 straight losses the San Antonio Spurs have finally won a game. They defeated the Utah Jazz for their first victory since January 17. Now, Gregg Popovich’s team is 15-47 in 14th place in the Western Conference. They’ve all but cemented themselves in the mix for the No. 1 pick in the draft lottery, clearly their goal for this season. The Indiana Pacers aren’t tanking, they have a young star in Tyrese Haliburton and have won their last two games.

The Pacers are 28-35 which is 12th in the East, but they could easily climb into the play-in tournament. If they’re going to do that, then they need to take care of business against teams like San Antonio. Let’s check out the odds.

Pacers vs. Spurs odds, spread and total

Pacers vs. Spurs prediction and pick

On Tuesday, the Pacers beat the Mavericks, 124-122 and Tyrese Haliburton was fantastic. He had 32 points, six assists, and seven rounds. He’s in complete control of the Pacers’ on the offensive end and they are 4-0 against the spread in their last four, 3-0 ATS after the all-star break. Out of the break, they are third in offensive rating, 125.6. When Haliburton was out with his injury for a stretch before the break, they were last in the NBA in offensive rating.

In those three games since the break Haliburton is averaging 23.0 points and 11.3 assists. San Antonio is an abysmal team on the defensive end of the floor. They allow the most points per game in the league and have the worst defensive rating. The Pacers are shooting 39 three pointers a game in their last three and hitting 41%. The Spurs are worst in the league at defending the three-point line.

The Pacers will have no problem putting the ball in the basket in this one and with their 4-0 record against the spread in their last four games, I’ll take them against the Spurs who have only covered twice in their last 16 games.
