Pacers vs. Mavericks prediction and odds for Tuesday, February 28 (Too many points to give Indiana)
By Peter Dewey
The Indiana Pacers have gone into a tailspin since Tyrese Haliburton’s injury earlier this season, and things haven’t changed much since he’s returned.
The Pacers are just 3-7 over their last 10 games, falling to 12th in the Eastern Conference in the process.
Indiana is on the road on Tuesday night against the Dallas Mavericks, who blew a massive lead on Sunday in a loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Dallas has struggled on defense for the majority of the season, and moving Dorian Finney-Smith in the Kyrie Irving deal certainly hasn’t helped. However, the team may get Maxi Kleber (questionable) back on Tuesday.
Here are the odds and a pick for the this matchup:
Pacers vs. Mavericks odds, spread and total
Pacers vs. Mavericks prediction and pick
Even though the Pacers have been struggling, I can’t help but take them in this spot as major underdogs.
Dallas is a great offensive team, especially from beyond the arc, but the team ranks 23rd in the NBA in defensive rating, which allows other teams (like Los Angeles on Sunday) to hang around.
The Pacers are just 11-15 against the spread as road dogs, but they’re losing those games by just 7.1 points per game, and they’ve actually played better as of late.
Indiana forced overtime against the Boston Celtics, and has wins over the Orlando Magic and Chicago Bulls in its last three games.
Meanwhile, Dallas is one of the worst teams ATS all season, and it has gone 9-17-2 against the spread as a home favorite.
Take the points with Indiana tonight.
