Jerami Grant may be the best option for the Pacers in the offseason

Probably the best option for the Pacers this offseason will be Jerami Grant, but the price could get too high for a rebuilding team. Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports is reporting that the Trailblazers have offered an extension to Grant, but that Grant has yet to accept and seems to be content waiting.

This could mean that in the offseason, Portland would be able to offer him north of 200 M over 5 years. And while Grant himself probably realizes he isn’t worth that, he may push for a higher dollar amount that what the Pacers are willing to pay for him.

Hot. This factor will kill small-market teams. light

In the case that the price gets too high, they should use their lottery pick this season to draft a forward such as this promising player. This would allow them to be closer in timeline to the rest of the players but would require they work to build the player for another year before they could hope to be competitive across the board.

What do you think? Do you like any of the pending free agents at the power forward position?
