A disgruntled forward that wants to win now?

One player that would definitely be worth considering would be Jerami Grant. Grant left Detroit in hopes of finding a situation that looked like he could compete, and it is not shaping up that way out in Portland. He may have a better chance to do so in the next couple of years with a young Pacers core with elite level young players.

Jerami is averaging the following stat line: 21 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists. This level of production could be game changing for a Pacers starting line that could be lethal with Grant in the power forward position. Imagine this:

Haliburton, Hield, Mathurin, Grant, Turner

Now that’s a team that could potentially contend at the top of the east. This whole pursuit would depend on how much Grant feels he can move the needle in Indy. Given we have some legitimate draft capital and good young pieces, the Pacers front office may be able to convince Jerami that in Indy he could compete within the next year or so.

Overall, only time will tell who the Pacers pursue, but it should absolutely be a power forward.
