A fifth year defensive minded forward that can shoot from deep?

Grant Williams might be one of the perfect additions to this roster. His ability to play good defense and shoot from the perimeter while bringing size to the starting lineup would potentially be the perfect match for the needs of the current Pacers roster.

His stats don’t look incredible: 9 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists on 46% FG and 41% FG3, but keep in mind that he plays with two of the most potent offensive players in the game in Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum. But what he brings to the Celtics he could likely also bring to a Pacers backcourt with Mathurin, Hield, and Haliburton.

The biggest issue the Pacers will have is that Williams will try and command a large paycheck in free agency given his finals experience and the fact that he does a lot of the dirty work for the Celtics on both ends of the floor.

If he’s available for a reasonable price – the Pacers should engage. But be wary of the overpay.
