The Pacers need to get involved in the Kevin Durant sweepstakes if it emerges after all. After new of Kyrie Irving to Dallas broke, there have been rumors going around that Kevin Durant may be moving to a new team in the not-so-distant future.

Given that many of the rumors seem to connect Kevin Durant with the Boston Celtics, many believe that it is likely that the Celtics are primed and ready to make a move. The package would almost certainly revolve around young shooting guard Jaylen Brown, also with draft compensation. So what kind of trade might make sense?

Well the Pacers need additional depth at power forward and one that is starting caliber for the near future. In turn, we have an excessive amount of draft capital in next years draft that we should plan to move on from if we want the ability to push for the playoffs in the short term (it should be noted that this is currently unclear).

If that is the way the Pacers want to go, getting involved as a third team in these types of situations often seems to help make the math work easier, especially when there are large contracts like Durant’s at play.
