How the Indiana Pacers can win the OG Anunoby sweepstakes

In this trade, the Indiana Pacers acquire OG Anunoby and veteran forward Otto Porter Jr. from the Toronto Raptors for a haul including wing Chris Duarte, big men Isaiah Jackson and Daniel Theis, a 2023 first-round pick from Cleveland and an unprotected 2025 first-rounder.

Anunoby, 25, is one of the best all-around defenders in the league for quite some time now, even netting some Defensive Player of the Year clamor in recent years. This season, he’s leading the association in steals, racking up 2.1 per game for the pesky Raptors despite his team’s disappointing outings on that end.

Meanwhile, Chris Duarte and Isaiah Jackson have gone under-the-radar for Indiana this season, tethered to marginal roles. Veteran Daniel Theis, on the other hand, has just returned from injury after missing more than a half of the season.
