Grading proposed Pacers trade for Toppin and other “can’t miss” trades

Pacers send a major player to Los Angeles in return for draft capital
One of the bigger disappointments of the NBA season have been the Los Angeles Clippers, who can’t seem to get their star players to want to play on the court. And while they struggle through load management, they will have to add players that can help carry the team. This trade would give them just that.
The Pacers would get significant draft capital in return for Buddy Hield. This would be a good trade if the Pacers don’t see Hield as part of their future. However, with the signing of Myles Turner, the most likely scenario is that the Pacers like their team and want to keep it together for the forseeable future.
Our thoughts?
This trade would be a C. It’s not bad return for Buddy Hield, but it’s also not great return. Kennard is a decent role player, but the first-round pick coming back is five years out. This trade probably isn’t worth doing for the Pacers.
