Grading proposed Pacers trade for Toppin and other “can’t miss” trades
By Joe Lyon
A good forward on a disappointing franchise
The Hornets are having a rough season and even though they seem to have their franchise player in Lamelo Ball, they continue to struggle to put together wins and look to be lottery bound. This could create a situation where they are sellers at the deadline.
In this trade the Pacers get both PJ Washington and Kelly Oubre while giving up their backup point guard in McConnell (a role Andrew Nembhard will be ready to fill) and Chris Duarte who as previously mentioned isn’t getting enough playing time. Daniel Theis is in the trade as salary filler as well.
Our thoughts?
This trade would be another A trade given that the price seems appropriate for the return. We may have to give up some second round picks, but we feel the return would still be worth it if the Pacers are able to fill a position of need they have had for a long time now.
