The Pacers are in a prime position to take advantage of unhappy superstars in the league. The newest face of unhappiness in the NBA is Kyrie Irving who has requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets after the team failed to come to an agreement on an extension.
Breaking: Brooklyn Nets All-Star Kyrie Irving has requested a trade, league sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. The franchise has been informed that Irving prefers to move on ahead of the Feb. 9 trade deadline – or will leave in free agency in July.

The Pacers could potentially get involved. Not because they would have any interest in actually acquiring Irving, but because they have cap space and extra draft capital that could be used to facilitate a trade between the Brooklyn Nets and a potential suitor, of which Shams is reporting there are many.
