Buddy Hield had himself a night for the Pacers against the Kings. By the night’s end he had accumulated the following stat line: 21 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists. For what it’s worth Tyrese Haliburton also had himself quite the evening against with 10 points, 9 assists, and 4 rebounds.

It’s no surprise that Buddy Hield seems to have little love for his former team, and his former fans also apparently have little love for him. But Buddy Hield may have had the most electric dunk of his career against the Kings when he decided to put the Kings on a poster:

Buddy Hield is not known as a high-flying bucket getter at the rim. But for a brief moment, he channeled all of the vengeance in his body to show his former team what they were truly missing. In his post-game comments, you can tell that Hield was happy to get the dunk on his former team:

Did you catch that? At the end of the video Hield makes sure to emphasize “against my old team”. Hield is keenly aware that Kings fans didn’t want him and that the Kings discarded him as a throw in to the Haliburton trade. In the tunnel after the game, you can hear Hield mocking the Kings new mantra of Light the Beam after the Pacers win.

Buddy Hield is such a guy of high character and we are so happy that he was able to get the revenge game done against the former team that seemed to never truly appreciate what he brought to the franchise.

Other notes from the game:

  • Myles Turner continues to look motivated to show the league that he is the dominate force he said he could be and that the Pacers signed to an extension.
  • Nesmith must have found a magic lamp, because he is shooting lights out from deep. If this continues and he develops into the sharpshooter he was in college, Pacers will look like the winners of the Brogdon trade.
  • Haliburton continues to look like the franchise player and All-Star he is in his second game back from injury.
