Pacers send pair of seconds for power forward of the future

The Pacers can’t give up too much for McDaniels, who will be a free agent after the season. This offer may change if the Pacers had confirmation that McDaniels would definitely resign with the team at the end of his contract.

In this trade, the Pacers send away a somewhat promising rotational player in Brissett, who may have a high ceiling if given more playing time that he currently is getting. Additionally, the Hornets would recieve a pair of second round picks, which allow them to walk away from McDaniels without losing him for nothing.

While the Hornets would likely not be thrilled to have McDaniels for this return, they certainly have a sense of whether McDaniels plans to resign with them. If he doesn’t, this could be their best option to avoid no return at all.

But should the Pacers do this type of trade for McDaniels?
