Pacers acquire John Collins while sending out a young talent

Three team trades are hard to pull off, they generally fall apart for one of the teams making the entire deal collapse altogether. Here is the trade idea between the Hawks, Spurs, and Pacers from Bleacher Report:

The Pacers would be returning two players, John Collins and Justin Holiday. This would be Holiday’s second stint with the team, the first of which went really well for both parties. John Collins would come to Indiana to fill the gap at power forward in the starting lineup.

Outgoing, the Pacers would be sending away Jalen Smith, who’s time at power forward has been okay at best, as well as Chris Duarte, Daniel Theis, and a 2023 First Round Pick (a lower Cleveland pick).

Duarte is the heavy cost of the deal, with Jalen Smith and Daniel Theis more or less being salary matching. The Spurs take on a bunch of new salary as they aim to get worse for draft odds, but pick up a promising young player in Duarte. The Hawks solidify at multiple position as well as bring back draft capital for Collins.
