Whether Dallas does this deal depends on one thing…Luka.

I believe that the Pacers would likely jump on a deal like this if contract extension talks were to break down between the two sides, but Dallas is a bit more of a complicated situation. Recent reports have seemed to indicate the Luka may be having some amount of say when it comes to personnel decisions in the organization.

If that is the case, the Mavericks might be at the mercy of what Luka actually wants the franchise to do. And it is precisely in those situations that the Pacers would need to jump on the desperation of another franchise.

Myles Turner would likely fit near perfectly next to Luka Doncic. He would make up for Luka’s lack of defensive ability (or effort depending on who you ask), as well as space the floor on offense for Luka to do what Luka does. Of course, Turner also fits near perfectly with Haliburton as well, which is why the Pacers should try the best they can to negotiate an extension that works for both parties.
