We continue to have little insight into how contract extension talks are going between the Indiana Pacers and Myles Turner. They could be close, but they could also be miles apart. And if they are still extremely far apart, the Pacers will need to have a contingency plan for what to do ahead of the trade deadline.

Recent reports from @AmicoHoops indicate that many sources around the NBA expect the Pacers to hold on to Myles Turner through the deadline. If this is the case, the Pacers have understand or feel they have a good chance to hold onto Myles.

But one NBA location that has always been brought up in Myles Turner trade rumors is the Dallas Mavericks. And it makes sense, it would be Myles headed back home where his family lives and where he went to school.

Additionally, Luka needs help with a Dallas franchise that just can’t seem to get any good pieces to surround Luka with. They may be looking to make a big move quick in order to communicate to Luka that they are wanting to win and maximize his prime years in Dallas. If so, there is possibly a trade that could be on the backburner for the Pacers if the extension talks go south.
