Pacers bring in Rui Hachimura of the Wizards in this proposed trade
By Joe Lyon
Our thoughts on this trade
This feels like a trade that would significantly benefit both parties. The Pacers would clear up some rotation space for their shooting guards, while obtaining a borderline power forward starter with upside. The Wizards would open up cap space and forward minutes while getting a borderline starter at the shooting guard position.
While this isn’t a blockbuster trade in the eyes of many NBA fans, it would have the potential to pay heavy dividends for both Pacers and Wizards fans in the upcoming years. If Shams is right, and he often is, this would be the time for the Pacers to jump into the power forward trade market.
So what do we think of this trade?
8 points, 9 seconds grade: A
We feel that this trade would be a solid A for the Pacers to make. There is little risk, with the biggest thing being Duarte’s future upside. Alternatively, it would be hard to say that Hachimura doesn’t have equivalent upside. The draft pick on the other hand, is really just incentive for the Wizards to consider this offer above others.
What do you think? Would you like to see Rui Hachimura in the blue and gold?
