On Wednesday, it was reported that the Wizards may be looking to move Rui Hachimura by Shams Charania of the Athletic. Hachimura plays a position of desperate need for the Pacers, and one they could certainly upgrade at, power forward. This position is one that the Pacers have struggled to get for years.

It is unclear what the Wizards are hoping to get in return for Hachimura, but it was reported that there are multiple Western Conference teams that need additional scoring that have expressed interest. While the Pacers are not mentioned by Shams’ report, this news does indicate that the Wizards may certainly be looking to open up cap space and make some space in their forwards rotation.

Kuzma would be one option for the Pacers, but may not want to come to Indiana or Washington may be more reluctant to let him go. If so, Hachimura is an excellent consolation prize on the trade market, especially if he can be gotten for pennies on the dollar.

Let’s take a look at a potential deal to bring Hachimura to Indiana for assets that the Pacers may not need long term.
