Why the Pacers should extend Myles Turner and other fan questions

"What would Duarte (who I like but he is one of 7 guards on the roster) and a couple of 2nds be worth?"
Chris Duarte has had a pretty rough season so far. He started the season on a cold streak and just when he started heating up, he sustained a long-term injury. His cold play has unfortunately resumed upon his return to the lineup. At this point, Chris Duarte’s trade value isn’t high enough for him to be shopped in any meaningful way.
The best reference point that Pacers fans have for what value Chris Duarte could have as part of a trade package would be to look to Indiana’s return for trading Malcolm Brogdon last offseason.
Aaron Nesmith was a lottery pick taken by the Boston Celtics in the 2020 NBA Draft.* He had a promising rookie season, followed by a disappointing sophomore season. He was packaged along with Daniel Theis, a first-round pick, and some salary filler for Malcolm Brogdon, who is a starting point guard on most teams in the league.
If Chris Duarte isn’t a part of a package like this one, or a package alongside a better player than him, I wouldn’t expect anything more than an average to below-average rotational player in return.
I don’t think the Pacers have any business shopping Chris Duarte right now. This Pacers team is still young and growing, and Chris Duarte is under team control for the next couple of years, which provides crucial flexibility for building the ideal team around Haliburton. That being said, if the final asset needed to seal a deal to bring an all-star player or high-level starter into this team is Chris Duarte, then by all means, include him in that deal.
*Fun fact from that draft: Tyrese Haliburton has the most win shares of any player drafted in 2020 with 16.1. The next closest is Desmond Bane with 12. Anthony Edwards, the number 1 overall pick has 7.4.
