Why the Pacers would jump all over this

There are many reasons the Pacers would want to jump all over this and we list them out below.

First, Daniel Theis has a much longer contract, this would allow the Pacers to add more flexibility to their roster moving forward. Daniel Theis is already merely sitting the bench but has the skill ability to be a starter in this league if in the right situation.

Second, giving up a second round pick is not that big of concessions. The Pacers are going to have more picks than roster spots in next years draft, so giving up some draft capital for a player, even if it is a short term investment, may be a great idea for the team to do.

Third, it gives the Pacers some toughness and playoff veteran experience that they could use. While McConnell and James Johnson provide some amount of energy and veteran presence to this team, Jae Crowder could bring much of that to the next level.
