Pacers send an NBA finals veteran to acquire another NBA finals veteran

Luckily for the Pacers they have a playoff veteran themselves that would be a perfect fit on a contending team, especially one in need of depth. This trade could potentially get the job done for the Indiana Pacers.

The Suns would be getting two things. First they would get a seasoned big man in Daniel Theis that has quite a few offensive skills that could be used off the bench. There is even a chance that if the Suns wanted to go big that they could play Theis together with Ayton in some lineups. It would also give the Suns protections in the case that things with Ayton are not working out, Theis could slide into the starting role quite easily.

Additionally, to motivate the Suns to take action a second round pick is thrown in so that there is small draft compensation going back to the suns in return. Luckily the salaries between the two players are close enough that the two players can essentially be traded straight up.
