Would the newest NBA trade candidates fit with the Indiana Pacers?
By Joe Lyon
Bradley Beal, Washington Wizards
It seems as if every year Bradley Beal is mentioned as a trade target on the market. And it seems as if every year, Bradley Beal remains a high-performing player on a poor-performing Wizards team. Is this year any different?
It is unlikely that Beal will get moved given his new massive contract and the fact that he was able to secure a no-trade clause. At a minimum, Beal would have to want to come to Indiana, and we haven’t seen any clues that would indicate that was the case.
That being said, Beal’s skills overlap with many of the current players on the Pacers roster such as Buddy Hield and Bennedict Mathurin. While of course Beal could be successful alongside the current Pacers roster, how much they would improve over what they would have to give up would likely not be worth it in the long term.
Overall, we suspect that the Pacers would not have much interest in trading for Bradley Beal given the large price tag that comes with him and the cost to acquire him.
