Trading a veteran for a younger promising forward

The following trade was put into and confirmed through NBA trade machine as being a successful trade idea. It goes something like this:

There is a bit of a blockage for shooting guard minutes at the moment for the Pacers. Removing Buddy Hield from the rotation would allow Mathurin and Duarte to get the minutes they need to develop and grow. This is in addition to guards such as Andrew Nembhard. Opening up minutes for these players in the guard rotation would also open up more minutes for players such as Isaiah Jackson and Oshae Brissett as well.

In return for Buddy Hield, the Pacers would recieve John Collins and a 2nd round pick from the Atlanta Hawks.

John Collins play has dropped off a bit in recent years, and there is a chance that he isn’t as promising a player as he was once thought to be. The younger big man still has value, especially to a forward starved team like the Pacers who have a heavy guard rotation, and a few bigs, but nothing really in the middle.
