This John Collins trade could make or break the Indiana Pacers
What does a John Collins trade look like for the Pacers?
Frankly, an upfront, one-on-one trade makes the most sense, at least theoretically speaking, for both the Indiana Pacers and Atlanta Hawks in this regard. The former gets forward John Collins in exchange for veteran guard Buddy Hield.
Collins, the 19th overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, has been a walking double-double in his career, but this season has been a preternatural one for him statistically. So far, the 25-year-old has tallied 12.3 points and 7.5 rebounds per game, easily his lowest marks since his rookie season. Notably, those have come despite him logging the second-most minutes per outing for his career in the current campaign.
Conversely, Hield has been a steady ship for the Pacers. Despite cooling off in recent weeks, the 30-year-old has been turning in 17.5 points per game, including an excellent 39 percent conversion rate on three-pointers on 9.6 attempts per contest.
Thus, should Indiana yield to this trade scenario?
