Trading for Cam Reddish makes sense regardless of goal of Pacers’ franchise

The big question before the Indiana Pacers make any trades is whether or not it makes sense given the direction of the franchise. But in this case, it may make sense regardless of future goals.

If the goal is to aim at better draft positioning, Reddish and Quickley both fit the younger timeline and the ability to grow with franchise cornerstone Tyrese Haliburton and company. If the goal is to try and make a run at the playoffs, both Reddish and Quickley have an ability to play prominently in the rotation, something that neither Goga or Terry Taylor are doing today.

Additionally, the Pacers would move off of a draft pick, which they have too many of next year to possibly keep current value players and sign all incoming players as well. They need to consolidate their assets, and this Knicks trade allows them to do just that.

Reddish has been in Indiana Pacers trade rumors before, so we know that the front office has some interest in him. Right now is the time to trade for him and the stars seem to align for Reddish to become the newest member of the Indiana Pacers.
